An increasing pressure from governments and numerous international organizations is slowly putting an end to unsustainable and illegal deforestation. In addition, the wood trade industry is increasingly refusing to accept timber from destructive sources. In order to meet the world’s demand of tropical hardwoods, a new sustainable source of wood is needed.
